For Georgia growers, packing sheds, buying points and ag suppliers
Get scale tickets, lot codes and settlements out of the spreadsheet.
Weights come off the scale, grades come from the grading system, and somebody types both into a settlement sheet and then into QuickBooks. We connect the records you already keep so each load is entered once and every settlement is drafted for your office to check. We are new to agriculture and would rather say so up front. Weighing, packing and paying growers still come down to records passed from one system to the next, and that part we know well.

Sound familiar?
Where the farm office loses its evenings.
The field work is hard enough. In the office, most of the strain is writing the same numbers down twice.
- Weights and grades get written down or exported, then typed again into QuickBooks and the settlement sheet.
- Lot codes and harvest records live in binders, and the FSMA 204 date is already on the calendar.
- Planting and yield data sit in Operations Center or FieldView while the costs sit in QuickBooks.
- Crew hours and bin counts get totaled by hand the night before payroll.
What we build
Before and after, from scale house to settlement.
Grades, prices and pay rules stay yours to set. We move the numbers between systems and keep the records in order.
| Job | Today | After |
|---|---|---|
| Scale tickets | Paper tickets or exports retyped into QuickBooks | Imported once from the scale or grading export, then posted after the office reviews it |
| Grower settlements | Excel formulas only one person understands | A settlement app that drafts each grower's statement from weights, grades and deductions, built in stages over the off-season |
| Lot trace | Binders searched by hand when a buyer asks | A lot code on every load, exportable as a sortable spreadsheet in minutes |
| Audit records | Cleaning and water-test logs gathered the week before the audit | Logged on a phone, offline if needed, and organized for your auditor |
| Field costs | Yield in Operations Center, costs in QuickBooks | Cost per acre by field on one dashboard |
| Crew time | Tally sheets totaled at the kitchen table | Hours and pieces logged in the field and sent to your payroll provider, who applies the pay rules |
Typical prices for farms and packing sheds
Know the number before we start.
These are our published ranges. The audit fee is credited toward the project.
We follow one load from the scale to the grower's check and write up what to fix first, with prices.
One workflow, like importing scale tickets or a weekly cost report by field.
A grading or scale export, or Operations Center, connected to QuickBooks.
An offline lot-trace and audit-log app, or a portal where growers see their statements.
Agriculture FAQ
What growers and shed managers ask before they call.
Have you built software for farms before?
No, and we'd rather say so than dress it up. What carries over is general: weighing, grading, packing and paying growers come down to records and approvals moving between systems, the kind of software Dean has shipped in production since 2020.
Start with a $500–$2,500 audit, credited toward any build, and you'll see how we work and how well we learn your operation before committing to more.
Will anything break during harvest?
Not if the switch is planned around your season. We usually build and test in the off-season and cut over on a date you choose, and the old way keeps working until the new one is proven. Field apps work offline and sync once they are back in signal, and every workflow alerts a named person on your team if it fails.
Does this make us FSMA 204 compliant?
No software can promise that; your food safety lead and auditor decide compliance. What we build is designed to hold the records the rule describes: traceability lot codes, the harvest, cooling, packing and shipping events, and a sortable spreadsheet export when one is requested. The FDA compliance date is currently July 20, 2028.
Can John Deere Operations Center integrate with QuickBooks?
Usually, yes, through John Deere's developer API, using access you grant from your Operations Center organization and can remove later. We confirm what Deere allows for your account during the audit, then pull field, planting and yield data and match it to the costs in QuickBooks so you can see cost per acre by field. Your data stays in your accounts.
How much does custom farm software cost?
A single integration runs $2,500–$7,500, and a settlement or lot-trace app $5,000–$15,000. Replacing a packaged system or building a multi-system platform runs $15,000–$40,000+, delivered in gated stages with a written price for each.
Large staged work isn't new to us: Dean built an organization-wide project-management platform in house for a large employer, so it no longer pays for costly licensed software.

A note from Dean
I haven't built software for a farm yet, so I'll start by asking how your scale house and office actually run. I've been building production software since 2020, including an in-house platform that saved a large organization from paying for costly per-seat software. I'm in Macon, you'll talk to me directly, and I'll tell you plainly whether a fix is worth doing before next harvest.
